Looking for an authentic New England experience on a Saturday afternoon in the spring or fall? Visit Sawmill Park in Ledyard, CT and see an original 19th century water-powered up and down sawmill sawing local timber into lumber.
In addition to log sawing demonstrations, there is a blacksmith shop, shingle mill, gristmill, ice harvesting tools and the Sawmill Park and picnic area around the mill pond. Learn about our exhibits.
Group Visits to the sawmill. Schools or other groups can contact the Ledyard Historic District Commission via Ledyard Town Hall (860-464-8740) to arrange group visits during hours the mill is not normally open. Or contact the mill volunteers at info@ledyardsawmill.org.
Sawmill Park is a town of Ledyard-owned park open every day to the public. The sawmill is only open during visitor season in spring and fall. Inquiries about a special event you would like to hold at Sawmill Park should be directed to the town of Ledyard Parks & Recreation Department (www.ledyardrec.org).
