Spring 2024 visitor season has started!
We are open for visitors on Saturday afternoons in April and May.
NOTE: The water-powered saw will not be operating until the 2nd or 3rd Saturday afternooon in April 2024 to allow completion of stone work repair on the mill tailrace. Visitors are still welcome on Saturday afternoons to see the sash sawmill and other mill artifacts.

Sawmill Park is open to the public every day of the year. The park with the mill pond, wood bridges over Lee Brook, and the picturesque mill buildings are always a treat to visit.

_________________________________The Ledyard Up-Down sawmill in Ledyard, Connecticut is a rare surviving example of a technology that was once commonplace – a water-powered up-and-down, or sash-type sawmill. Restored to operating condition in the 1970s and operated by volunteers, the mill is open to the public for sawing demonstrations on Saturday afternoons in the spring and fall. There is no admission charge.
Visitors can also view the blacksmith shop, circular sawmill, shingle machine, ice harvesting tools, gristmill and other mill artifacts. See Exhibits.
The sawmill is owned by the town of Ledyard, Connecticut and administered by the Ledyard Historic District Commission.
